Licypriya receives Millennial X Award

Child environment and climate activist Licypriya Kangujam has been conferred Millennial X Award 2023 by four National media, today.
The award was given by NewsX, India News, Sunday Guardian and Business World, said a press statement issued by Licypriya Foundation.
It may be mentioned that Licypriya burst on to the stage at the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2023 (COP28) in Dubai by holding a sign above her head that read, "End fossil fuel.
Save our planet and our future" .
Speaking to the media about Manipur after receiving the award, Licypriya said that the Prime Minister must hold a talk with both Kukis and Meiteis to end the protracted violence in Manipur.

She also said that the Prime Minister maintaining studied silence on the situation in Manipur is unfortunate.
She further said that the international community and the United Nations must intervene to stop the violent campaign of Kukis against the Meeteis.
"Licypriya has been advocating against climate change since she was 6 years old and occupies one of the prominent and crucial voices in the global climate change movement.
She has been demanding the rich nations pay for the loss and damage caused by the climate crisis to the global south and to phase out fossil fuels.
Her demand was finally achieved in the COP28 after the world leaders and 196 member states of the United Nations agreed to end the era of fossil fuels by 2050 .
Renewable, Hydrogen and Nuclear energy will replace major parts of the fossil fuels and will not see the fossil fuels anymore after 2050 .
Her voice gave a big impact to the United Nations," added the statement.
