The Manipur International Youth Centre (MIYC) has appealed to all the people of Manipur and Manipuris staying in India & abroad to provide their support to the local volunteers who are fighting in the frontline to defend the motherland.
In a release, MIYC shared that since the conflict began on May 3 last, Kuki-Chin-Mizo terrorists have carried out numerous atrocities and attacks against the Meitei community in the State.
MIYC stated that considering the threat posed by the Kuki-Chin-Mizo terrorists, many youths and local volunteers have come forward to fight against the armed terrorists who are targeting innocent civilians and burning down houses belonging to the Meitei community.
Highlighting that the youths and local volunteers are now facing a lot of difficulties due to the shortage of essential items and funds, MIYC stressed on the need for all the people of Manipur to stand together and provide all possible assistance to the local volunteers who are fighting in the forefront against the Kuki-Chin-Mizo terrorists.
The Centre claimed that the Kuki-Chin-Mizo group had been planning for the present conflict for over 60 years and amassed funds through poppy/ drug trafficking to establish their so-called Zelen'gam.
The Centre mentioned that the local volunteers are facing a lot of difficulties to fight against the Kuki-Chin-Mizo terrorists who are equipped with foreign made sophisticated weapons and technologies of modern warfare.
MIYC then conveyed that despite all the hardships, the local volunteers are taking aspirations from all the support provided by the people of Manipur so far and are fighting in the forefront against the armed terrorists to defend the motherland.
MIYC further urged all the intellectuals, bureaucrats and other economically stronger sections of the society to come forward and extend their support in the ongoing fight to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
