Imphal, July 07 2023: Eighteen (18) more bunkers were destroyed in Imphal East, Imphal West, Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Kakching districts by a combined team of Central and State forces today, according to a daily bulletin of the Police Control Room (PCR) .

Saying that armed miscreants fired towards Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai and Kwakta area today during which one civilian was killed while another sustained injuries, the PCR said that police and security forces have repelled the armed miscreants.

"It is learnt that five suspected miscreants sustained bullet injuries out of which two succumbed," it added.

The Control Room further said that five arms, 74 ammunition and five hand grenades were recovered from different places in Imphal East in the last 24 hours.

About the attack at Kongba Mara Laiphamlen, the PCR claimed that the temple and prayer hall were found unharmed during a police inspection.

Only a store room, water tank and a farm shed near the campus were burnt in the attack, it claimed.
