Imphal, February 16 2024:
The People's Alliance for Peace and Progress, Manipur (PAPPM) has categorically stated that the ongoing conflict in Manipur was engineered by Kuki militants, chiefs, elites and frontal organisations like ITLF, CoTU and Kuki Inpi at the cost of the lives of the Kuki serfs who do not have land rights.
A statement issued by PAPPM asserted that it is these autocratic Kuki traditions that have deprived the fundamental rights of the common Kukis.
At present, they are used as pawns by Kuki militants, chiefs, elites and frontal organisations, instigating them against Manipur to achieve their selfish ends, it said.
A day will come when the common Kukis will surely turn against these agencies misleading them.
At that time, ITLF will realise that it is too late to contain the fire started by them as it is happening now, the PAPPM warned.
Manipuris will defend Manipur.
ITLF or any other Kuki narco-terrorist militia can never tear apart Manipur, it asserted.
The PAPPM also expressed appreciation to all those who participated in the widespread demonstrations held across the valley districts under the theme "Purge the Kuki narco-terrorists: Save Manipur, Save India" on February 15 .
It further condemned the mob violence related to the suspension of Churachandpur police Head Constable Siamlalpaul that unfolded in Churachandpur on February 15 .
Saying that the ITLF does not have the moral authority to blame the SP of Churachandpur (for the suspension), the PAPPM warned the ITLF not to instigate the public to take law into their hands.
