Senapati, February 16 2024:
The Zeme Naga Council Manipur (ZNCM) has appealed to the State Government and Chief Minister N Biren Singh to fulfill the assurances made during his visit to Ze Mnui (Yangkhullen) on May 9, 2022 .
Highlighting their grievances, a press release issued by L Etalakpe, general secretary, ZNCM stated that it is the people's long awaited dream to have a separate TD-Block for Yangkhullen DCC for administrative conveniences as the region is situated in a far-flung remote area from the district headquarters.
Further, it said that for the purposes of safety and security the area is in need of a police station at Bendramai and a police out post at Tamphung through NH-129A which is 60 km and 97 km away from the nearest existing Maram PS respectively.
It pointed out that the necessary process had been taken up at the concerned district police department a year ago but the people have not received any response from the Government till date.
The Council has also urged the State Government to resume MST bus service along NH-129A from Senapati to Tamphung village.
Stating that these demands were previously forwarded during the maiden visit of the Chief Minister to Ze-Mnui, one of the oldest existing and largest Zeme village, on May 9 2022, ZNCM has urged the State Government to fulfill the long-pending grievances of the people of the district and the Zeme community.
