UBOWAM announces bus fare concession for displaced students

Imphal, February 16 2024:
The United Bus Owner's Welfare Association Manipur (UBOWAM) has resolved to provide 100% concession in bus fares to displaced students travelling back and forth from their educational institutes and 50% concession to other displaced persons.
According to a statement issued by A Lalit Singh, publicity and information secretary, Committee on Protection of Meetei Victims Moreh (COPMeV), the resolutions were passed during a joint meeting held by COPMeV and UBOWAM on February 15 in consideration of the numerous hardships faced by conflict survivors.
The press release added that the displaced individuals should always have their identity cards to avail the concession and urged the concerned committees in charge of the relief camps to ensure that the displaced folks have received the necessary documents.
COPMeV has appealed to all transport or passenger service unions associated with UBOWAM to offer these concessions to the displaced folks.
Further, the Committee also extended their gratitude to UBOWAM for taking up this initiative to provide some relief to the conflict survivors.
