Liklam Ngakpa demands special package for crisis affected children

Liklam Ngakpa has appealed to the State Government to make special arrangements for welfare and providing education to all students affected by the current crisis.
Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, Liklam Ngakpa spokesperson Bikramjit Rajkumar urged the Government to take appropriate measures under the "One Nation, One Education" for the welfare of conflict victims' children and those of daily wage earners from the academic session 2024-25 .
He said that thousands of people including children & students have been forced to take shelter in relief camps due to the prolonged conflict which has been going on for more than 10 months.

Seeking immediate attention of the Government, he asserted that authorities concerned should take up dedicated efforts to avoid crisis affected students dropping out of schools.
He expressed hope that the Education Minister will make some special arrangements for children of the people who lost their lives in the present conflict.
He also appreciated the Board of Director and Principal of Mega Manipur School for giving assurance to provide schooling upto Class 2 to the daughter of Late L Inao from Takhel who died in a gun attack by Kuki militants at Naransena village.
Bikramjit also appealed to the schools, colleges and universities to take necessary measures to ensure education is provided to all students affected by the crisis.
Bikramjit further urged all the teachers and student organisations of the State to come forward to save the future & career of the generation that has been hit hard by the Covid pandemic and ongoing conflict.
