Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul reaches out to displaced folks

A delegation led by Chief Justice of Manipur High Court Siddharth Mridul visited the relief camps at Sekmaijin Panchayat Ghar, Sekmaijin and Elangkhangpokpi Mayai Leikai Mandop, Elangkhangpokpi under Kakching district.
He was accompanied by Judges of the High Court of Manipur Justice A Bimol Singh, Justice A Guneshwar Sharma and Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui along with S Brajabihari Singh, Chairman of the Bar Council of Manipur; Y Nirmolchand Singh, president of the High Court Bar Association of Manipur; Kh Samarjit Singh, Deputy Solicitor General of India, High Court of Manipur; Yumkham Rother, Registrar General of High Court of Manipur; Binny Ngangom, president of All Manipur Judicial Officers Association; Samom Ibjen, District and Sessions Judge, Thoubal; Alek Muivah, member secretary of Manipur State Legal Services Authority; Masana Evangeline Panmei, secretary of Thoubal District Legal Services Authority; senior advocates Huirem Ishwarlal Singh and Sapam Biswajit Meitei; Kh Arunkumar Singh, president of Thoubal District Bar Association and other members of the Bar, according to a press release issued by J Hillson Angam, Deputy Registrar (Judicial), High Court of Manipur.
In addition, Somorjit Salam, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kakching, along with the Medical Officer of the District was also present.
He briefed the visiting delegation about the conditions of the camps.
Relief materials were distributed to families residing in the two relief camps.
The families received essential items such as charcoal, charcoal heaters (meiphu), torch light with lamp, hot water bag, diapers, plastic mat, mattress, thin woollen shawls, winter woollen trousers for women, and sports items aiming to alleviate some of the challenges faced by the conflict survivors.
During the visit, the delegation interacted with the internally displaced persons.
They also urged the IDPs to share their concerns through the Para Legal Volunteers of the District Legal Services Authority.
