The kidnapped youth was released today, at about 6.10 pm, to the same place at New Chekon area where he was picked by some unknown persons coming in a Maruti Gypsy with no number plate on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier, before he was released, local sources said that the 20-year old youth Neklian Siam son of late Laiyampao of Phobi village of Saikhul sub-division of Senapati district was picked by the personnel of the 32 Assam Rifles.
He was released after badly tortured allegedly shocking with electric.
Many bruise marks at forehead and other part of the body were found.
He has been admitted at JNIMS Hospital for medical attendants, family source said.
The source further said that he had been picked up on the charge of being a KYKL activist.
During their custody he was charged of a commander of the outfit and tortured him to disclose whereabouts of his colleagues.
Mention may be made that Neklian had appeared in the Army recruitment rally undergoing at Bishnupur and he was picked up while staying at the house of his aunt at New Chekon area on Thursday afternoon at around 2.30 pm on his way to buy some grocery item of the house.
With regard to his missing, Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Imphal Branch and Vaiphei Students Association Imphal block had threatened to launch agitation demanding immediate release of the youth while expressing security hand behind the abduction.
