Imphal, April 24 2010:
The Red Shield Division organized a Medical and Dental screening camp at Dwarika Village to provide medical care and advice to the population of the village as well as nearby villagers today.
A health check up of school children of the village was also carried out.
A press release issued by PIB (DW) stated that at the medical camp, the services of medical and dental officers along with primary medical investigative and diagnostic infrastructure was made available to the village folk to help root out existing medical and dental problems and prevent their spread and recurrence.
A total of around 110 village folk and 250 school children from Class I to Class IX were screened by the doctors of 357 Field Hospital and "School Health Record Cards" were distributed to the children.
Apart from the check up, health lectures were taken for the school children where impetus was laid on the importance of proper nutrition and basic hygiene.
Col AK Nayak, ADMS 57 Mountain Division, visited the camp location and interacted with the villagers and the school children, the press release stated.
