Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths probing the murder of Manipur University's Department of Economics Professor Md Islamuddin Khan are confident of cracking the case as the investigation is on the verge of completion.
So far the probe has detected involvement of 17 persons resulting in their subsequent arrest.
An informed source confided that with the CBI sleuths set to complete the investigation into the gunning down of the Professor inside the University campus in May last year relevant process is on to file chargesheets soon.
It is also informed that statements of all the accused persons have been recorded by the CBI sleuths who had been staying in the State since the investigation was handed over to the agency.
While the state police pulled up 16 persons in connection with the case the CBI sleuths apprehended one.
