When they (gunmen) shot to death a man who tugged her in the effort to save her what would happened to the just three year old child, asked the mother of Memsana whose uncle was shot dead in course of saving her when three suspected militants tried to carry away here.
With no one allowed taking care of her, her mother alone taking care of her.
Even on seeing her father, the girl is crying.
Three gunmen who entered to the house of Lairenlakpam Leirentombi, pradhan of Uyumpok Gram Panchayat in Imphal east district attempted to take away her three year daughter, Memsana when they could not find the pradhan at her house on the night of April 20 last.
The uncle of the girl, L Amudon alias Ibomcha who objected the taking away of the little child and engaged in altercation and tried to snatch the child from the gunmen was pumped with bullets at the belly.
Seriously wounded Amudon succumbed to his injury at the hospital in Imphal in the morning of next day.
Recalling the incident, the grand father of Memsana, Yaiskul said when he was with the little child in the absent of her mother who was out for some work, with a laud voice to open the main door someone knocked hard.
After breaking the door, the three gunmen picked the child and tried to take away her, Yaiskul said adding there was a tugged between the gunmen and him when they attempted to take away the child.
Her uncle, Amudon suddenly appeared and intervene the gunmen not to take away the child.
They shot at with the small gun in their hand to Amudon and left the house immediately, he recalled the incident.
The little eye is in frightening on hearing voices of man.
She used to wake-up frequently in sleeping.
She refused to stay alone for a second.
When she cried, none can take care except her mother, the father of child Tombi Singh revealed.
A villager of Lamboikhun where the incident occurred opined that he is worried what would happen to the little child who brain is not mature even when a mature man could not bear with on seeing killing a man in front of him in
brutal manner.
Villagers have decided to boycott activities of militants in the village apart from banning entry of outsiders in the village from 6 pm till 6 am of everyday effective from today.
The demand for opening of a security outpost in the village and security to the villagers put forward to the government are yet to materialize by the authority, the villagers lamented.
