JAC constituted against the closure of JN Hospital Road (Pong Lambi) has reiterated its demand of opening the said road today.
A press release issued by its Convevor I Singhajit lamented that President of the JAC, Elangbam Tomba, who has been undergoing treatment at Shija Hospitals after he got a BP stroke, passed away in the wee hours today.
The Convenor said that Tomba returned home dejected after a team of JAC members met the Health Minister in this regard on April 19.No sooner did he reach his residence, he experienced a deadly stroke that claimed his life.
The Convenor in his press release said that the President was disturbed with the Health Minister's unmoved decision of closing the road.
Saying that closure of the said road would affect thousand of people of more than 10 localities, the JAC urged the Minister to review his decision in the interest of these people.
It also warned that even if the Government forcibly closes the road, people would open the road by taking up various agitations.
The JAC also urged the Government to extend needful help to the family of JAC President.
