Thoubal District Bar Assn clarifies

The Thoubal District Bar Association (TDBA) has issued a clarification to the public of Thoubal and Kakching regarding its role in the inaugural function of the G+3 annexe building for the Court of District and Session Judge Thoubal held on December 20 .
A press note issued by Kh Arunkumar Singh, president, TDBA on behalf of all Ld Members of TDBA has clarified that TDBA was never formally informed and intimated in time by the Law and Legislative Affairs Department about the exact date and time of the function and thus advance information could not be given to the litigants and clients about the non-functioning of the courts located in Thoubal district and Sessions Court Complex Thoubal on December 20 .
It went on to clarify that the words 'Inauguration of G+3 Annexe Building For the Court of District and Sessions Judge at Thoubal' as printed in the invitation card was done by the Law and Legislative Affairs Department, Govt of Manipur and the omission of the word Khangabok in the invitation card has no relation with the TDBA at all.
Adding that the TDBA was not consulted by the Law and Legislative Affairs Department in making the list of invitees for the said function, thus, it added that TDBA is not responsible for not inviting local MLAs, public leaders and academicians etc of Thoubal and Kakching districts.
Even TDBA members received the invitation cards around 2 pm, December 19, it clarified.
The press note also highlighted that TDBA has no connection with politics and has respect and regards for all the National and regional parties.
It further added that not a single word was mentioned about Thoubal District Bar Association in the welcome address given at the function.
Accusing the Law and Legislative Dept of showing disrespect to the lawyers community by not formally informing TDBA about the exact date and time of the function, the press note has expressed hope that such acts will not happen in the near future in Thoubal as well in other districts of Manipur.
