Imphal, February 18 2024:
Taking serious note of a public notice issued by the ITLF, Churachandpur stating that all State Government offices will be closed from Monday (February 19) until further notice and employees must not attend offices, the State Government has ordered that no one shall or attempt to make any deliberate effort to follow or enforce the ITLF's notice at any cost.
In case of any violation of this order, the person(s) concerned without any exception shall be booked and prosecuted under relevant provision of law of land in force for the time being, according to the order issued by Chief Secretary Dr Vineet Joshi on Sunday.
'No work, no pay' shall also be enforced by all the State Government offices/institutions against those employees who do not attend their official duty without authorised leave, it said.
The same order advised all Central and State Government authorities and management authorities of institutions/establishments/autonomous bodies to ensure strict attendance of staff and students as usual.
All District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of all districts have also been directed to take up necessary action to enforce the same order.
Saying that the State Government views the matter very seriously with utmost sensitivity, the Chief Secretary's order asserted that the notice issued by the ITLF is without any authority and as such illegal.
CBSE examinations have already started while State board exams are due from February 27 for which preparations are in full swing.
A large number of relief camps are operating in the districts where many children, elderly persons, pregnant & lactating mothers and specially abled persons are residing and their regular care is being taken.
