National Games: Inunganbi, Luxmi strike gold as Manipur collect 4 medals on Day 11

Imphal, October 09 2022:
T Inunganbi and Konjengbam Luxmi claimed gold medals while Ksh Kabidash and M Indubala bagged bronze as Manipur's medal tally in the 36th National Games surged to 38 on Sunday.
T Inunganbi gave Manipur their second gold medal in judo after beating Punjab's Sonam in the final of the women's -70kg category.
Inunganbi bested Jammu & Kashmir's Shweta Thakur in the first round, continued her winning form against Punjab's Ranjita in the second round and got the better of Haryana's Garima Choudhary in the semifinal.
Ranjeeta and Ravnit Kaur, both from Punjab, shared the third place.
Konjengbam Luxmi, on the other hand, emerged as the first among her teammates to win medal in the wushu competition of the National Games 2022 after she earned the top podium honours.
Luxmi won the nanquan & nandao event to walk away with her yellow metal.
Assam's Rongila Daimary finished second and Jharkhand's Geeta Xalxo took the bronze medal.
The 11th day of the Games also yielded two bronze medals for Manipur courtesy of Ksh Kabidash and M Indubala.
The state collected their first medal in the triathlon competition after Ksh Kabi dash claimed his bronze medal in the men's individual event.
Services Sports Control Board hogged the first two podium honours with Adarsh Murlidharan Sinimol winning the gold medal and Vishwanath Yadav taking the silver.
Manipur other bronze medal was bagged by M Indubala (78kg) in judo.
It was the state judo team's fourth bronze medal in the Nation games 2022 .
The state contingent has so far collected 38 medals including 10 in cycling (G-6, S-2, B-2), five in weightlifting (G-3, S-1, B-1), four in archery (G-2, S-1, B-1), six in judo (G-2, B-4), six in fencing (G-1, S-1, B-4), two in rowing (G-1, B-1), one in wushu (G-1), one in roller sports (G-1), one in triathlon (B-1), one in wrestling (B-1), and one in gymnastics (B-1) .
