Radio 4 Child North East Chapter launched

Manindra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Assam today launched the North East Chapter of Radio 4 Child at Hotel Radisson Blu in Guwahati, Assam.
The North East Chapter was launched as part of the 2-days workshop on "Radio 4 Child" organised by United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, UNICEF India from October 8-9, 2022 .
Radio 4 Child, North East Chapter will help in promoting the heath, nutrition and immunisation programmes carried out by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India in the North Eastern States.
Speaking on the occasion, Manindra Singh stated that Radio is a powerful medium for transmitting information and generating awareness.
"UNICEF India conceptualized the Radio 4 Child platform in 2014 to encourage radio professionals to come up with innovative programming on child and maternal health", he added.
It may be mentioned that UNICEF has been conducting capacity-building workshops for radio professionals to help them integrate meaningful, appealing radio jingles or talk shows on critical messages related to vaccination and other children's issues.
As part of the event, District Correspondents of Radio 4 Child were also felicitated.
Representatives of Community Radio Service, Programme Executive of All India Radio Imphal and correspondents from 6 Districts of Manipur participated in the workshop.
