ACOAM Lup echoes brotherhood call

All Club Organisation Association & Meira Paibi (ACOAM) Lup has stressed the importance of fostering brotherhood among the people of hills and the valley on 22nd Mera Hou Chongba celebration today.
At a celebration held at THAU Ground, Sanjit Soraisam, president ACOAM Lup, said it was time for people of Manipur to come together and celebrate unity.
"There are forces trying to break the sacred bond between the people of the hills and the valley.
It is time we prepare ourselves and face them.
Even though the incidence of Ramandi faith had separated the people of the hills and the valley for some time, Mera Hou Chongba celebration has been able to re-enforce those bonds of love.
There are forces trying to separate us but they will not succeed," he said.
While the main celebration was held at Kangla, the event at THAU Ground was attended by many including representatives of hill villages.
Silent Village (Tangkhul) headman Ngamkahao Firo, Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) president Ksh Somorendro, Laikot Kharam Village headman R Saneingir, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) president Tourangbam Birjit, Laikot Phaijol (Karam) headman S Khulothang, Laikot Kom Village headman L Thangso and Mao Union Imphal president Dr Puni Losii attended the celebration as presidium members.
The celebration was held under the theme "Chingburoi Tamburoi Anigi Nungshi Lipun Kananasu Thadatpa Ngamloi" .
