MPDF calls for improvement in education sector

Imphal, October 09 2022:
Manipur People's Democratic Front (MPDF) has stressed on the importance of improving the education sector to achieve progress and peace in the State.
Sapam Samungou, Secretary, MPDF made the statement during a press conference held today at Manipur Press Club.
Addressing the media persons, he cited the amalgamation of 237 schools by the State Government in 2019 and demanded for a review of the order concerned.
He also called for the amalgamated schools to be newly established.
The MPDF secretary also called for students to be free from political pressures and receive their education in a conducive environment.
He then spoke against tuition culture and added that schools need to impart quality education in order to bring worthwhile changes.
Lastly, he urged students to be more respectful of their teacher and hold them in high regard.
Separately, Ningthoujam Ronibala, Chairperson, MPDF was felicitated at Manipur Press Club upon being conferred an honorary doctorate degree in social work by Indian Empire University, Tamil Nadu.
