4th First Nupi Lal 1904 observed

Imphal, October 09 2022:
The 4th First Nupi Lal 1904 Observation Committee in collaboration with UMO, ATA, KWUM, Thangal Women's Union and AMDWDO observed the day at Manipur Press Club, here, on Sunday.
The commemorative event was attended by national and international awardee Dr TM Rajen Ayangba as chief guest and Art & Culture retired director Kongjengbam Sushila Devi as distinguished guest while AMO president Moirangthem Sorojini Leima, national awardee Mangisana, First Nupi Lal 1904 Observation Committee legal advisor Meisnam Nomita and Kuki Women's Union Manipur president Rose Mangsi Haokip as special guests.
AMSU interim executive council secretary general Bruce Pebam, All Manipur Muslim Women's Development Organisation president Sitara Begum, Thangal Women's Union president YK Grace, and Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FDCS), Manipur president Th Manihar were present at the event as guests.
In his speech, Dr Rajen Ayangba highlighted the historical importance of the first Nupi Lal, and said that it served as the spark that lit the fuse for bringing numerous changes in the state.
He then emphasised the need to form a close-knit community of the downtrodden, while remarking that the first Nupi Lal could be discussed with regard to the courage of women and the establishment of the first all-women educational institutions in Manipur.
Kongjengbam Sushila spoke about the first Nupi Lal and urged the present women to emulate the role played by the mothers of the time, so as to prevent a third Nupi Lal in the state.
