Solo walker Manikanta Mutum receives warm reception

Imphal, October 07 2021:
A warm reception was given to Manikanta Mutum, who undertook a solo walk under the theme 'No to drugs; our green world', by Oinam Romen Singh, an intending candidate from Singjamei Assembly Constituency in the forthcoming State General Assembly Elections 2022 on National People's Party (NPP) ticket, at his residence.
During the reception event, Romen Singh said, "The journey being undertaken by Manikanta Mutum is the need of the hour as some of the youths of today are addicted to different kinds of illegal drugs.
His solo walk is to spread awareness to the youngsters so that they can be aware of negative impact of drug abuse to their health and the society" .
The solo walk was started on September 10 this year, covering almost all the valley districts of Manipur.
It now will proceed to Assam via Imphal Jiribam road, mainly Meetei inhabitant areas of the neighbouring state with a stipulated time of two months from the date of the commencement of the walk.
Romen Singh further said, "The youths today should be groomed in such a way that they can be place far from intoxicants.
For this they should be given relevant jobs".
A tree plantation programme was also held at the river bank of Imphal River as done earlier.
