Ukhrul bans beef amid mystery disease

Ukhrul, October 07 2021:
In view of the unknown disease taking heavy toll on cows and buffaloes in Ukhrul's northern region, Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has announced a ban on slaughter and selling of beef in its entire jurisdiction with immediate effect.
In a statement issued on Thursday, TNL said that any form of trading cows and buffaloes, slaughtering and selling of the meat has been suspended with immediate effect and until further notice.
It may be mentioned that the outbreak of an unknown disease has claimed dozens of buffaloes and cows in Tusom and Wahong villages since last week.
