Imphal, October 07 2021:
Prices of petroleum and other products have skyrocketed ever since the BJP came to power thereby making the people to suffer at the highest level and this indeed is fooling people who elected BJP and allowed the party to govern the country.
This was stated by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and Nambol MLA N Loken during a youth enrolment programme organised by Nambol Block Congress Committee at its office on Thursday.
Speaking as chief guest at the programme, N Loken contended that people are now fully aware of the present situation brought on by BJP led government at the Centre and in the state.
Under the BJP led government, price of cooking gas has increased manifold while prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed after frequent hiking ever since the BJP came to power.
This has totally cut off livelihood means of poor people, he added.
Just to grab power, Prime Minister Naren-dra Modi made numerous promises but none has been translated into action till date and people of the country are now fully aware of false promises made by Modi, he said, adding that youth of the country see no future under the BJP led government.
PM Modi led government always speak lies and claims of executing works which were never done, Loken said, while asking how many people have benefitted from welfare schemes introduced by the BJP led government.
He also said that time has come for the people to understand BJP's attempt to fool people by spreading lies and end the BJP government's policy of making the poor people to suffer.
In view of the present situation, people need to be fully aware of political party which thinks for the welfare of the people and exercise their rights in the 2022 election to hand over the power to such party, he said, adding that people's wise exercise of their rights could only bring an end to the anti-people policies of the BJP governments in the state and across the country.
The youth enrolment programme was also attended by Indian Youth Congress secretary Sarifa Rahman, Manipur Youth Congress working president S Jony Meitei, MPCC state coordinator Malemkhomba Salam and Nambol Block Congress Committee president.
