Imphal, October 07 2021:
A two-day Tangkhul Traditional Music Workshop organized by Guru Rewben Mashangva, Padma Shri awardee was held at Eagle's High School, Nagaram under the theme Reviving the Traditional Tangkhul Musical Heritage.
It was attended by the few living folk music experts along with 11 folk music students.

The traditional musical instruments were Tingteila (folk fiddle), Yangkahui (Four hole & three feet long and six hole bamboo flute), Talu (bamboo trumpet), Kalu (one hole bamboo flute), cow bell (percussion), gong, etc.
The performance by the folk music masters as well as students held the attendees in awe and brought to life the magic of traditional music of the Tangkhul community.
IGP IK Muivah attended the workshop as a special guest along with special invitees Dr Jubilee Shangrei and Michael Shaiza.
