Key issues of Manipur highlighted in CPI National Council Meet

Laishram Sotinkumar, State Secretary of CPI Manipur State, has informed the public that CPI Manipur State Council have submitted a report detailing the key issues of Manipur during the CPI National Council meeting held at New Delhi from October 2 to October 4.The information was shared at a meeting with media persons held at CPI Office, Irawat Bhawan yesterday.
The issues detailed in the report include - call for justice with regards to Athuan Abonmai's killing, uprooting of NSCN (IM) camps from the State, price inflation, creation of a highway protection force in order to do away with the taxes imposed upon vehicles plying on the Imphal - Jiribam and Imphal - Dimapur highway and the death of drivers, handymen and civilians totalling up to around 400 individuals along the highways.
L Sotinkumar intimated to the media persons present that they strongly pressured the Centre to act on these issues quickly, adding that the issue of Manipur's integrity with respect to the ongoing peace talks between NSCN (IM) and the Indian Govt was also highlighted.
Athuan Abonmai's brutal killing was also vehemently condemned during the meeting, he added.
Speaking of the upcoming 12th Legislative Assembly Election to be held in six different states of the country in 2022, he stated that left democratic secular forces will unite to usher in a new non-BJP Government in these states and the communist party will play a big role in this ousting.
N Singhajit, president All Manipur Loumi Lup added that the BJP Govt at the Centre still remains indifferent to the farmers' protest even after 11 rounds of talks and mentioned the recent incident at a farmers' protest at Lakhimpur Kheri, UP further highlighting the BJP's incompetence.
