Zeme language approved at MIL

The Zeme Literature Society Manipur (ZLSM) has expressed gratitude to Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BoSEM) for officially approving Zeme as one of the Major Indian Languages (MIL) on September 7, 2021 .
In a release, Society's president Apung Daime and secretary Samlu Newme praised the BoSEM chairman Akham Joykumar Singh, secretary Dr Sapam Mangijao Singh and deputy secretary S Jitelal Sharma for approving 'ZEME' as an MIL subject under BoSEM, which stating that it has been a cherished dream of the community.
The Society also thanked DM College of Arts principal Dr Ch Sheelaramani Devi, MU professor Dr S Imoba Singh and DM College of Teacher Education associate professor Kh Dineshkumar Singh for their guidance and motivation in the process leading to the approval.
It also acknowledged the role and contribution of Forest minister Awangbou Newmai, Power special secretary Armstrong Pame and all who rendered their support financially, morally and prayerfully in their endeavours.
ZLSM noted that students can now opt for 'Zeme' as their first language (Subject Code: 50) in the course study of class IX & X from the academic session, 2021-22 .
