TPR dips below 5 pc; 116 new cases detected

The daily positivity rate came down to below 5 per cent on Thursday as the state reported one fatality and 116 new positive cases out of 2682 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 4.33 per cent against 6.16 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
The active caseload has come down to 1752 out of which 296 (16.89 per cent) are in home isolation, 487 (27.80 per cent) in CHICs, 616 (35.16 per cent in CCCs and 353 (20.15 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 63 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 70 are on oxygen support and 23 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 165 patients.
On the other hand, there are nine patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Thursday evening, 577 beds including 112 ICU/ HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Wednesday evening 2756 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 399 beds (31 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 92,178 positive cases and 1502 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 994 new cases and 21 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 116 new positive cases included 115 people (56 male & 59 female) from among the general population and one member of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were detected at RIMS (9), JNIMS (7) and other testing centres (100) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (33), Imphal West (59), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (2), Chandel (2), Kamjong (1), Pherzawl (1) and Noney (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The lone fatality reported in the last 24 hours was from Bishnupur and the victim had received second dose of Covid vaccine.
With this, the cumulative number of deaths due to Covid-19 in the state has reached 1876.In the last 24 hours, 140 patients were discharged from home isolation (33), RIMS (11), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (88) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,21,578 (general population - 1,17,277 and CAPF personnel - 4,301) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,17,950 (general population - 1,13,686 and CAPF personnel - 4,264) and number of active cases is 1,752 (general population - 1,720 and CAPF personnel - 32) .
The recovery rate is 97.01 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 912 D-type and 104 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
A total of 9278 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,29,107 which included 5,20,249 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,072), Imphal East (26,891), Thoubal (9358), Churachandpur (10,072), Kangpokpi (2763), Tamenglong (3269), Bishnupur (9056), Senapati (2210), Ukhrul (2799), Kakching (6357), Chandel (2291), Noney (1062), Tengnoupal (1046), Jiribam (1017), Kamjong (869) and Pherzawl (446) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (626), Imphal East (443), Thoubal (170), Churachandpur (159), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (188), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (34), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,181 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,274 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,24,884 tests per million population against the national average of 4,14,178 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2682 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.33 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.22 per cent.
