Senapati, Jiribam DHs get Oxygen plants under PM Cares

A 500-litre-per-minute capacity Pressure Swing Adsorption Oxygen Plant built under PM Cares Fund was inaugurated by PHE minister Losii Dikho at District Hospital, Senapati on Thursday.
During the event, A Kapani, caretaker chairman ADC Senapati, noted that Senapati district is fortunate that a BJP led government is in power in the state.
Earlier, the chief minister had inaugurated PSA (Oxygen) Plant at the district hospital on August 9 and other different development projects taken up in the district.
The caretaker ADC chairman urged the people of the district to use the facilities properly for the benefit of all, adding that they have been built through the initiatives of local minister.
Commenting on the recruitment process for ADCs, Kapani stated that there are more than 300 vacancies in the district council and inclusion of local languages as criteria for recruitment of primary teachers under ADC is in process.
He further said that there are so many educated unemployed youth in the district and creating job opportunities for them would be a "healing touch" to them.
Kapani opined that smooth functioning of ADC is a must for a better development in a district, adding that creating job opportunities for tribal youth is one of the government's priorities.
Minister Losii Dikho, in his speech, underscored the importance of health sector in one's life which, he said, has seen some improvement in the state in recent years.
Many neighbouring states have lots to learn from Mani-pur state, which has excelled in different fields including medical sector, he added.
He also expressed happiness over 'a great role' played by the district CSOs which are so much involved and always behind the initiatives of the government, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, while urging all to create a healthy environment in the district.
The minister was hopeful of sufficient oxygen supply in the district hospital with the inauguration of the new plant and also expressed that the problem of water scarcity would be eased once the water supply project in the district is commissioned.
Later, the gathering watched the live programme of the Prime Minister's nationwide address on PSA Oxygen Plant (PM Cares) .
JIRIBAM: In addition to launching of PSA oxygen plants by the Prime Minister across the nation, CM N Biren on Thursday virtually inaugurated a 500 LPM capacity PSA oxygen plant constructed by Police Housing Corporation Limited under PM Cares Fund at the complex of district hospital, Jiribam.
The launch programme was attended by Jiribam Adhy aksha Kh Janaki Devi, chief medical officer Dr E Okendro, SDO S Indrajit, SDPO Th Sanatomba, deputy medical superintendent of Jiribam CHC Th Shyamananda and doctors and staffers of the district hospital.
Speaking at the event, Dr E Okendro expressed elation that the earlier problem of inadequacy of oxygen supply in Jiribam will be over as the new plant will produce 500 litres of oxygen per minute.
The plant will not only supply oxygen to every bed in the hospital but will also aid in setting up of ICU and Pediatric ICU, he added.
