KLSA FC reach CC Meet semis; CFA beat MA in 7-goal thriller

KLASA FC (Keinou) ensured their place in the 63rd CC Meet semifinals with a hard-fought win over F4C (Saikul) and made a clean sweep of their two matches in the quarterfinal league round on Wednesday, while Classic FA overcame Muvanlai Athletics 4-3 in an action-packed Group B encounter.
KLASA came from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory over F4C in their Group A con test at Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The Keinou side trailed behind their Saikul opponents when Ngulgoulal Singsit found the back of the net in the 59th minute after a barren first half.
The celebration, however, short-lived as Lunminlen Haokip put KLASA on level terms in the 66th minute.
After a 1-1 stalemate, the squads engaged in an intense battle with fruitless back-and-forth exchanges for the major part of the remaining minutes until Sh Rajdan Singh sprang a surprise in the final seconds of stoppage, firing home the winner that propelled KLASA FC to the last four.
KLASA in their first quarterfinal league match on March 7 had defeated KIYC.
Serto Worneilen ran riot scoring four goals in Classic FA 4-3 triumph over Muvanlai Athletics (Kangpokpi) in a Group B match to boost their chances of a semifinal spot.
Worneilen set the tone for his 4-goal salvo with a 7th-minute opener.
Haolengou drew level for Muvanlai in the 43rd minute as both sides went into the second half deadlocked at 1-1.Muvanlai started the second period with a bang after Mangtinsei struck in the 46th minute but the Kangpokpi team's lead lasted only two minutes after Worneilen found his second goal for Classic FA.
Worneilen then went on to grab 2 more goals (59th, 62nd) in the space of three minutes to put his side in command.
Muvanlai fought hard and revitalized their comeback attempt when Haotinsem slotted home their third goal in the 82nd.Buoyed by the goal, the Kangpokpi side pressed on but their effort proved futile as Classic FA clung on to have the final say.
