CrPC 144 clamped in Bpr, Jiribam

Imphal, March 09 2022:
In order to prevent breach of peace and tranquillity and to ensure smooth counting of votes for six constituencies in Bishnupur district, district magistrate Lourembam Bikram has imposed restriction under Section 144 of CrPC in and around mini secretariat complex till completion of counting process.
Accordingly, entry of any vehicle, people carrying arms, daos, swords, knives and other lethal weapons and any other unauthorised persons within the aforementioned area has been prohibited.
Similarly, Jiribam district magistrate I Malemnganba Chengiei has clamped Section 144 of CrPC in whole of Jiribam district from 6pm to 6am daily from March 9 to 12.The order will not apply to government official machineries involved in enforcement of law and order, essential services, media and specific special permit issued by competent authority.
