Stage set for counting of votes

Preparations are all set to commence counting of votes for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election 2022 across the districts of Senapati, Thoubal, Kakching and Chandel.
In Senapati, the counting is reported to start from 8 am onwards tomorrow at Multi-Purpose Hall, Senapati with 7 tables each for 47-Karong AC, 48-Mao AC and 49-Tadubi AC including a separate table for counting of postal ballots.
Briefing about preparations going on for the counting, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, DC, Senapati stated that all preparations are ready for the last phase of election process.
The DC also mentioned that all procedures are in place to start the counting tomorrow.
Further, the District Magistrate has imposed 144 CrPC in the peripheral area of the counting venue to ensure free and fair conduct of the counting without any breach of peace.
The counting of votes for 41-Chandel and 42-Tengnoupal (ST) will be conducted tomorrow at the DC Complex, Chandel.
Seven booths will be provided for each AC.
Joint CEO Manipur Naorem Prabin visited the site to inspect the counting booths and other preparations undertaken for the smooth conduct of counting of votes.
It may be noted that 2 candidates from 41-Chandel AC and 6 candidates from 42-Tengnoupal (ST) contested in the State Assembly election.
Preparations are also complete to conduct the counting of votes for the 10 constituencies of Thoubal and Kakching district at Thoubal DC Complex from 8 am onwards tomorrow.
Six counting halls at Thoubal DC Complex have been prepared to carry out the counting.
In a meeting with Impact News, the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash stated that the counting for Kakching AC, Wabagai AC, Hiyanglam AC and Sugnoo AC will be conducted in two separate rooms at the Election Counting Hall and for Wangkhem AC, Khangabok AC, Heirok AC and Wangjing Tentha AC, the counting will be done in two separate rooms at the Barrack Hall.
Further, the DEO shared that counting for Lilong AC and Thoubal AC will be conducted at the ground floor and first floor respectively of District Panchayat Hall.
Results for the first and second round of counting will be available around noon and 4 pm in the afternoon tomorrow, he added.
