1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament : PCC beat PSC for second win; PTCC, YUCC open winning account

PCC, Mayai Koibi thumped PSC, Khuyathong by 8 wickets for the second wins in three matches of the Group A competition of the ongoing 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament.
The day also saw PTCC, Patsoi and YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel open their winning account in group stage competition having lost their opening matches.
Having beaten THAU in the previous match for the first win in two matches, PCC bowled PSC out for 122 within 29.1 overs thanks to Chingakham Ranjan's four wicket haul and chased down the target within 17.4 overs courtesy Charoibam Tyson's half century at Langthabal Public Ground.
PSC who lost their opening match to KCC had to regret their decision to bat first as they were reduced to 14-2 after Ch Ranjan removed RK Surchand on 3 and L Chingkheihunba Meitei bowled Thokchom Homenjit out on 7 in the 6th over.

Yengkhom Bhomendro looked to set up the momentum but two of his partners were removed by Mathurabashimayum Jobanta Sharma cheaply before he himself departed on 20 for the fifth wicket to Thoudam Monet when the scoreboard read 73 .
Ibungomacha who came out for the 7th wicket top scored with 35 lately and helped take the tally to 122 .
Chingakham Ranjan finished with the best bowling figures of 4/19 in 6 overs and emerged man of the match as M Jobanta and Thoudam Monet bagged two wickets apiece.
L Chingkheihunba and Thokchom Anand also picked up a wicket each in this innings before Ch Tyson clobbered 4 fours and 5 sixes on the way to his 68 tally and ensured PCC post winning 126 for 2 in 17.4 overs.
Vikas and Huidrom Dhanashyam also contributed 17 and 20 runs respectively to help PCC register the 8 wicket win.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, PTCC scripted a 66 run victory over THAU, Thangmeiband riding on Yendrembam Deepak Singh's 4-wicket haul.
PTCC had a dismal innings after electing to bat first and bundled out for just 126 runs in 27.1 overs as THAU's Chittaranjan Meitei Ngangom wreaked havoc and dismissed a chunk of record 6 wickets.
Dominic Moiranthem 29 was the highest run getter for the Patsoi team followed by Naorem Victor 21 and Paonam Champion 17 .
THAU's Nicholas and Rabikanta Sharma Shanglakpam also bagged two wickets each in this innings.
Chittaranjan's 6-wicket feat however went in vain as THAU chase faltered horribly and were skittled out for 60 within 21.4 overs as Yendrembam Deepak ran through the batting line up on the way to his four wicket haul for 9 in 5.4 overs.
Thangjam Mocha of PTCC also added teeth to the bowling attack scalping twice while Sohail Akram, Naorem Victor Meitei and Dominic Moirangthem bagged a wicket each.
Only Rabikanta (22) was the double digit scorer for the Thangmeiband side.
Y Deepak was eventually named man of the match.
Meanwhile at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, YUCC stacked up 201 for 9 in allotted 40 overs and held ESU to 148 all out in 38.2 overs for the first win in the Group B competition.
Thoiba Ningthoujam set the stage earlier for YUCC before departing on 37 and Ningthoujam Sanjit hit a 70-ball 57 to help the team post a modest target.
Hemchand Yumkham and Surjit of ESU claimed two wickets each as Chittaranjan Sharma, Pathoi Bond and Chongtham Mehul Shreth managed a wicket apiece.
In reply, ESU faced a stiff resistance from YUCC bowlers and were eventually bowled out for 148 in 38.2 overs.
Hemchand Yumkham on 25 was the highest run getter for ESU followed by M Bimananda 21 in this innings which saw Khundrakpam Punshiba of YUCC enjoying a three wicket haul including one on duck and Kadamjit Moirangthem dismissing two crucial wickets.
Ningthoujam Sanjit, Ningthoujam Rahul-kumar and Ningthoujam Amarjit were able to pick up a wicket apiece to help restrict ESU chase considerably.
Khundrakpam Punsiba was adjudged man of the match.
