Football development programme kicks off

Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh has inaugurated a two-month residential football development programme at the Indoor Hall of National Sports Academy, Khuman Lampak here today.
Okram Ibobi Singh; Mairembam Prithviraj Singh, Parliamentary Secretary, Youth Affairs & Sports and Tourism, Manipur; D S Poonia (IAS), Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur and Dr R K Nimai Singh (IAS), Commissioner, Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Manipur attended the function as Chief Guest, President and Guests of Honour respectively.

The football development programme that aimed at developing skills, tactics, physical and mental conditionings as well as much needed exposure and knowledge on emerging trends of modern football to young players of Manipur would be conducted by renown football and FIFA/IOC conditioning and fitness coach, Stephen David Darby from Liverpool, England.
During the programme he would be assisted by 2 coaches deputed by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) namely L Nandakumar Singh, AFC-"A" and L Chaoba Devi, AFC-"B" and a coach deputed by YAS, Government of Manipur namely G Dhanakumar Sharma, NIS-AFC-"B" .
At the programme which is being organized jointly by MDS and AMFA would conduct from Khuman Lampak Artificial Turf Ground.
Altogether 30 players are participating in the programme.
