Jiribam, May 05 2013:
A high school in Jiribam, which has around 110 students of Class VI to X, has been suspending classes since the past five-six days after a recent violent rainstorm that swept across the Sub-Division had damaged it badly, reports our correspondent.
Located at a distance of around 10 km from the Sub-Divisional headquarters, Latingkhal High School is remaining unattended ever since the rainstorm had completely blown away its CGI sheet roofs.
The school which does not have a regular Headmaster is being managed by only five teachers.
ZEO Jiribam is the Headmaster in-charge of the school.
Lamenting on the deteriorated condition of the only school of the area, locals asserted that the school is the clear testimony of State Education Department's negligence towards bringing quality education.
