Imphal, May 05 2013:
A woman victim of a rape attempt has decried the act of taking her into police custody in connection with a mob dismantling the house of the accused who happens to be her elder brother-in-law.
Speaking to media persons today at IMA office, the victim said that she escaped from the rape attempt after biting the accused's hand.
Enraged by the incident, local people dismantled the house of the accused.
After this, one sister-in-law filed a complaint to police and demanded re-construction of the dismantled house repayment of Rs 30,000 in cash and three sans of gold.
Acting on the complaint, Kakching Police pulled up the victim some three/four days.
On being asked the reason for pulling her up, police reportedly told her that she was being pulled up because they could not arrest those people who dismantled the accused's house.
Decrying such attitude of police, the victim appealed to all concerned to find out facts and circumstances of the incident.
