Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 held at ICAR, Moreh

ICAR Research complex for NEH region took part of in the nationwide campaign on the concept of "Physical/Virtual Run" on Friday at Residential Complex of ICAR Research as part of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 and to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
According to an ICAR RC NEH region release, its director Dr VK Mishra flagged off the run at 7.30 am.
Addressing the gathering, he said that the concept of healthy lifestyle should be incorporated into the younger minds at a very tender age and appreciated the noble initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a'healthy India.
A pledge was also taken by the participants to make effort towards a healthy lifestyle.
The institute also celebrated Hindi-Unas fortnight held since September 14 .
NEPA director Deepak Kumar attended as presidium member of the inaugural function.
Throughout the fortnight, various competitions including debate, extempore, noting writing competition, scientific articles presentation competition (through PPT) were organised along with a Hindi Workshop to promote usage of Hindi in day to day official communications.
NESAC director Dr S P Aggarwal attended as presidium member on the closing ceremony.
The entire programme was observed under the chairmanship of director Dr V K Mishra and it was conducted by deputy director R D Sharma.
Meanwhile, Moreh Battalion of IGAR (South) reportedly organised Fit India Freedom Mini Marathon at Moreh town on Thursday to promote healthy living and encourage the locals towards maintaining physical fitness.
Altogether, 150 participants of different age groups took part in the mini mara thon with full enthusiasm.
Children from nearby villages, members of the CSOs and village leaders attended the event and the winners of each category were awarded with prizes, informed PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
