Minister Valte assures consultation on ADC Bill

Tribal Affairs & Hills minister Vungzagin Valte stated that a committee has been constituted to look into the ADC Bill 2021 issue and will undergo careful examination according to due process of the law.
He said departments concerned have to consult with all stakeholders, law department on the legal aspect and the office of the Advocate General accordingly.
The Bill seeks to 'repeal' the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Councils Act, 1971, which is the principle bill, the minister said during his speech at the launch of Clean India Campaign under the theme 'Clean India, Safe India' at District Training Centre, Tuibong, Churachandpur district on Friday.
Regarding the campaign, Valte said the mind, body and environment are interconnected and one needs to have a clean mind, body to have a clean environment.
While urging the people to participate in the campaign, the minister asked the people to make good use of vehicles and machinery with ADC to clean the town and instil awareness and feeling of pride among the people.
Aimed at creating awareness, mobilization of people and ensuring their involvement in Clean India initiative, the minister launched the campaign in the presence of Churachandpur DC Pawan Yadav, SP Shivanand Surve and other dignitaries.
LT Ngaihte of Vision Lamka, CO 1st IRB Lunkhomang Khongsai, DEO/ADCC Lalthazam, DLOs of different departments and volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Churachandpur participated in the event.
Department of Youth Affairs, ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is undertaking 'Clean India' programme to organise activities to keep surroundings clean and waste free and propagate the mantra of "Clean India, Safe India" .
