International Women Polo Tournament : Manipur-B, SA register win

Manipur-B (India) and South Africa prevailed in today's matches of the 6th International Women's Polo Tournament 2023 underway at Mapal Kangjeibung since yesterday.
While Manipur-B sealed a comfortable 5-1 win over Luxembourg in the first ground, South Africa picked up their second victory of the tournament by thrashing IPA (India) 9-2 in the second match.
The tournament organized by Manipur Tourism in association with All Manipur Polo Association (AMPA) is participated by five teams - South Africa, Luxembourg, India (IPA), India (Manipur-A) and India (Manipur-B) .
In the opening match of the day, Manipur-B displayed dominance as skipper Neelu RK amassed three goals while her team-mates scored the other two.
Manipur-B scored three goals in the first chukker and another two in the fourth chukker.
Neelu RK opened the account for Manipur- B in the 1st minute of the opening chukker while M Bijenty and Th Sanajaobi netted another two in the same chukker and gave the team a big 3-0 lead.
The only goal of the losing side was scored by Sandrine Natacha Dubois in the second chukker.
Before the final whistle, skipper Neelu RK converted another two chances in the fourth chukker and gave Manipur-B its first victory of the tournament.
This was Luxembourg's second match.
Their opening match staged against IPA ended in a draw.
South Africa, on the other hand, picked up their second win of the tournament as skipper Amy Michelle displayed a prolific performance and scored four goals in a 9-2 rout of IPA.
South Africa started strong in the match as they scored 4 goals in the first chukker itself while IPA remained goalless in the opening and second chukker.
Tessa opened the account for South Africa while team-mate Vermaak doubled the lead a moment later before skipper Amy Michelle struck another two and gave the visitors a big 4-0 lead.
Showing their expertise in the field, South Africa scored another two goals in the second chukker through Santini Julianne.
IPA opened their account in the third chukker through L Sangeeta who scored two goals.
Vermaak of South Africa also scored one goal in the same chukker.
Extending the lead to 7 goals, Amy Michelle scored two more goals in the fourth chukker and gave South Africa their second win.
South Africa beat Manipur-A in their opening match.
