Transport Director flags off Imphal-Tamphung bus service

Senapati, February 16 2023: Director of Transport, Dr Nevidita Lairenlakpam flagged off the Imphal-Tamphung village Manipur State Transport (MST) bus service from MST complex at Moirangkhom, today.

The ceremony was attended by Joint Director MST, Laishram Delina Devi; Deputy Director, Dr David Elangbam; representatives of Zeme Naga Council Manipur, Zeme Students Union Manipur, Zeme Naga Council, Senapati Zone, Zeme Youth & Students Organisation Senapati and Zeme village chairmen/secretaries.

It may be recalled that Transport Minister, Khasim Vashum along with MLA Losii Dikho, DTO, Joseph Lamkang, NHIDCL officials and Zeme CSOs had conducted a survey last month to finally materialize the bus service.

Transport Director flags off Imphal-Tamphung bus service

The bus service will ply from Imphal to the border village, Tamphung via Maram, Willong and Bendramai in Senapati district.

Bus plying from Imphal to Tamphung will depart from MST Office, Moirangkhom at 6.30am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday while the bus coming from Tamphung to Imphal will depart from Tamphung village bazar at the same time.

The 182 Km distance from Imphal to Tamphung village and vice versa will be charged Rs 340 per passenger.

Meanwhile, Zeme CSOs have expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister, N Biren Singh; Khasim Vashum, Losii Dikho and N Kayisii for the timely implementation of the bus service from Imphal to Tampung.

The CSOs also urged the State Government to add a bus service from Mao-Dimapur.
