Manipur B cruise as South Africa maul IPA

Manipur B (India) got off to a flying start as South Africa continued their dominant run on the second day of the 6th International Women's Polo Tournament 2023 at Mapal Kangjeibung (Pologround) on Thursday.
Manipur B started the day with a 5-1 drubbing of Luxembourg as Neela RK starred with a treble for the hosts.
The state squad jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first chukker courtesy of a goal each from Neelu, M Bijenty and Th Sanaojaobi.
In the next chukker, Luxembourg reduced the arrears through Sandrine Natacha Dubois.
Goals eluded both teams in the third chukker before Neelu struck twice in the fourth chukker to complete her treble and give Manipur B a comfortable win in their campaign opener.
South Africa, meanwhile, secured their second straight success in style with a 9-2 thrashing of IPA (India) in the second match.
Amy Michelle Gace led the rout scoring four goals.
The South African riders galloped to a commanding 4-0 lead in the first chukker with Amy Michelle hammering a double, coupled with a goal each from Tessa Lela Sarah Moxon and Vermaak Alida Brenda.
In the second chukker, Santini Julianne grabbed a pair of goals to stretch their lead further.
IPA managed to narrow the gap in the third chukker with a double from I Sangeeta Devi while Vermaak Alida scored her second and her team's seventh goal.
Then it was up to Amy Michelle who collected two more goals and propelled South Africa to an emphatic victory.
