Six matches were decided in the 63rd CC Meet on Wednesday as TRUGPU, SSU, KLASA FC, XI Star, MAO FC and PAMYAL carried the day in contrasting styles.
The first match at Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, saw TRUGPU (Nambol) ease past TRAU FC (Kwakeithel) 2-0 in a Group F encounter.
Ng Rakesh Singh scored both goals of TRUGPU.
Rakesh found the opener after 10 minutes and netted his second in the 35th minute to help his side collect full points.
In another Group F meeting, SSU (Singjamei) rained goals on Oriental Club (Phungyar), pumping in 8 goals without reply.
P Naoba ran riot firing in six goals.
The Singjamei side were dominant from the word go as P Naoba opened the floodgates with a 9th-minute goal before he roared into action with a double (32nd, 39th) in the space of seven minutes.
Oriental Club's defence were in complete disarray as L Roshan struck in the fourth goal in the 41st minute and Y Joychandra made it 5-0 just before the end of first half injury time.
Already taking a commanding lead, SSU were in no mood to relent.
They continued to put the pressure upfront after the break and scored at will.
Naoba was unstoppable in the second half as well.
He continued his scoring spree with a 64th-minute strike, collected his fifth goal in the 78th minute and completed his six-goal salvo after converting in the 86th minute that saw SSU close out the game in style.
In a Group G match, KLASA FC (Keinou) enjoyed a 6-0 hammering of DFA Moreh as Lunminlen grabbed a hat-trick.
Lunminlen registered the shot on target just one minute into regulation to give his side the lead.
Then Ch Ronald extended the advantage in the 5th minute.
Lunminlen scored his second goal in the 27th minute to triple the lead before O Sanatomba made it 4 0 in the 40th minute.
In the second half KLASA, added two goals with Lunminlen completing his treble in the 55th minute and N Momocha rounding off the scoring in the 70th minute.
At Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, XI Star (Akampat) cruised past RAU (Lairikyengbam Leikai) 4-1 as S Robinson and Hemson Yumnam scored a double each.
Robinson opened the scoring for XI Star in the 7th minute and the team kept their 1-0 lead through the first-half exchanges.
After the interval, RAU equalise d in the 53rd minute through Ng Jiten Singh.
But XI Star regained their lead in the 63rd minute cour tesy of Hemson Yumnam.
Then Robinson stretched the lead to 3-1 in the 69th minute before Hemson made it 4 1 in the 3rd minute of stoppage time.
MAO FC (Mao), meanwhile, came through a tight tussle to eke out a 1-0 success against NACO (Elangbam Leikai).
It was Chawang Shimrah's 14th minute effort that made the difference in a keenly contested Group G match.
PAMYAL (Patsoi) too were made to work hard by their dodged Mantak opponents UBSAin a 1-0 triumph in their Group H contest.
A Suran joy scored the only goal of the: match in the 69th minute.
