TPR rises, two die, 104 new cases reported

The daily test positivity rate rose above 6 per cent on Wednesday as government bulletins reported 104 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1647 samples tested in the last 24 hours registering a positivity rate of 6.31 per cent against 5.62 per cent on Tuesday.
Wednesday also reported two death cases which took the toll from the pandemic to 2088 .
The victims were unvaccinated residents of Bishnupur and Thoubal districts.
The virus has claimed lives of 181 vaccinated persons of which 555 had received second doses, till date.
In the last 24 hours, 136 persons were discharged from home isolation (102), RIMS (12), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (17) .
The caseload came down to 2144 out of which 436 (20.34 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 254 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 112 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, five did not report any fresh Covid cases on Wednesday.
So far, the state has recorded 10348 positive cases and 86 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 2880 new positive cases and 42 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 778 and 14 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 104 fresh cases (46 male & 58 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (8), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (86) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (24), Imphal West (30), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (4), Kangpokpi (5), Tamenglong (2), Ukhrul (4), Senapati (4), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (4) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached - 1,36,136 (general population -1,31,137 and CAPF personnel - 4,999) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,31,904 (general population - 1,26,966 and CAPF personnel - 4,938) and number of active cases is 2144 (general population - 2090 and CAPF personnel - 54) .
The recovery rate is 96.89 per cent.
A total of 230 D-type and 108 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 4144 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 14,89,122, including 11,00,982 who have received second doses and 51,854 inoculated with precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48386), Imphal East (30234), Thoubal (10082), Churachandpur (11007), Kangpokpi (3103), Tamenglong (3448), Bishnupur (9755), Senapati (2459), Ukhrul (3219), Kakching (6834), Chandel (2676), Noney (1144), Tengnoupal (1184), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031), and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (696), Imphal East (502), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (202), Senapati (12), Ukhrul 49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,872 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,473 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,01,951 tests per million population against the national average of 5,38,001 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1647 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.31 per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.74 per cent.
