Imphal, February 16 2022:
Federation of Haomee has strongly decried the use of propaganda by candidates in campaigns to garner more support from the public for the ensuing 12th Manipur State Legislative Assembly election, 2022 .
In a statement, Federation of Haomee has categorically asserted that no movement or revolution in the State has succeeded without the participation and support of the masses.
And for political parties to use these movements as talking points and feathers in the caps of certain political parties is a big mistake on their part, the statement added.
Elaborating further, Federation of Haomee mentioned several instances such as the attainment of Statehood, removal of AR from Kangla, implementation of ILP System among others, and stated that these movements were successful because of the public's relentless outcry which forced the Government's hand.
Vehemently decrying the propagandic claims that attainment of Statehood, removal of AR from Kangla, upgrading of MU to the level of a Central University are achievements of the Congress (I) party and implementation of ILP System, Bangkok Agreement 2001 etc are accomplishments of the BJP, the Federation questioned if any ruling Government had participated in any of these movements.
Further, the Federation stated that any collateral damage incurred, such as loss of lives, injury and so on, during the course of these movements had been suffered by the people only.
As such the Federation has advised these political parties and their candidates to refrain from using people's movements as a tool in garnering support for the election.
