Imphal, February 16 2022:
JD-U national general secretary Afaque Ahmed Khan has said that no political party can form the next government in the state without the party's support.
Attending the flag hoisting ceremony of JD-U candidate in Thongju constituency Shanglakpam Preshojit held on Wednesday, Afaque Ahmed said that he has been closely observing the situation in different parts of the state and he sees increased potentials of the party's candidates winning the election.
Considering the growing popularity of the party, he expressed confidence that JD-U will be the key to formation of the next government.
The JD-U government led by Nitish Kumar has been ruling in Bihar for the last 17 years and he also played majof rale in bringing railway to Manipur.
Bihar is the only state where women enjoy 55 per cent reservation in government jobs, he said and added that the party is planning to bring the same development model in the state.
Thangmeiband MLA Kh-Joykisan said that MLAs are lawmakers and they should have firm commitment to serve the public.
INC candidate Seram Neken did not put his signatures on his affidavit, which is unacceptable.
However, Thongju MLA and works minister Th Biswajit insisted the RO to accept the nomination because he knows that he stands no chance against the JD-U candidate if there is straight fight in the constituency.
Besides, as a law maker, he should not interfere in the official process of the RO.
Missing signature of the candidate leads to rejection of the nomination and yet he interfered in the official proceedings, he alleged.
On the; other hand, the MLA does not mention pending criminal case against him in his affidavit.
FIR is just a first information report and criminal case is more serious in nature than an FIR.
Withholding such information is unacceptable and he is liable to be disqualified if an election petition is filed, Joykisan said while urging the public to choose the right candidate in the ensuing election.
The Thongju MLA is holding portfolio of different departments but no significant achievements could be seen in any of the departments.
It is first in the history of the state that the PWD is withholding work order even after completing tender process about a years ago.
Calling the BJP MLAs and ministers corrupt, Joykisan said that the election, this time, in Thongju AC will be a fight between ideologies, commitment and muscle & money power.
JD-U candidate Preshojit said that both his rival candidates are trying to convert the election into a game of muscle and money power.
He assured of remaining in close contact with the public and take up initiatives to promote entrepreneurship ventures among the educated youth of the constituency in order to bring economic development in Thongju AC if he got elected.
