Heirok Killing: Women try to storm Court

Several women protestors from Heirok stormed the gate of District and Sessions Judge Thoubal Court on Wednesday after hearing reports that six accused involved in the killing of N Rohit, who was shot dead on December 21, 2021, would be brought to the Court.
A scuffle broke out between the women and the police after they were stopped from entering the Court.
The women protesters then raised slogans at the gate demanding punishment to the culprits, booking them under NSA, filing of charge-sheet at the earliest, etc.
During the protest, the Rohit's mother N Eshabi lost consciousness and was taken to the District Hospital Thoubal by some wornen.
Speaking to the media, one Moirangthem Gambini lamented that even after two months of the incident in which victim's father Premchandra of Heirok Part 2 Mayai Leikai was severely beaten up, the government has not taken up any concrete action.
If the authorities concerned do not file a charge sheet within five day and book the accused under NSA, then they will intensify their agitation, she said and remarked that the responsibility for any untoward incident should be borne by the state government.
It can be mentioned that JAC against the brutal killing of N Rohit has been organising democratic form of agitation against the murder as the six accused continued to be kept under police remand.
