21st century demands perfection : P Saratchandra

Athletes and officials from Manipur who represented India in the World Strength Lifting and Incline Benchpress Championship at Kathmandu, Nepal were felicitated at Palace Compound, today.
Notably, the championship held from March 10 to 13 was participated by over 400 athletes from over eight countries.
At the ceremony, retired IAS officer and former Moirang AC MLA P Saratchandra said that every sportsperson and people in other fields must focus on honing their skills and strive to become a perfectionist rather than eyeing on the prizes or the reward alone in the 21st century.

P Saratchandra is also the president of Manipur Strength Lifting Association (MSLA) .
He also said that every individual must give his/her 100 per cent in whatever profession they pursue.
MSLA vice president L Umakanta also attended the programme.
It may be mentioned that L Cherishma Devi won a silver medal for the country in the 52 kg event of the Incline Benchpress Championship by lifting 72.5 kg.
Two other women from Manipur L Nevidita Devi and S Anita also competed in the championship while Kh Ningthem , general secretary of MSLA, was the official.
