KASC, YWC register wins in MNCA Superplate Cricket

Imphal, April 13 2023: KASC Khomidok and YWC Langthabal registered wins in today's league matches of the 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament.

While YWC beat WYC Thoubal Wangkhem by 86 runs at Public Ground, Khangabok Part III Cherapur, KASC overwhelmed PSC Khuyathong by 170 runs at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak .

In the first match, YWC set a target of 211 runs in the 40 over match with two batsmen hitting half centuries.

Ngangbam Bikramjit Singh knocked 71 runs off 78 deliveries while Ngangbam Bishwash Singh smashed unbeaten 66 runs off 81 balls in the first innings.

Opener Jiko Sorokhaibam also hit 38 runs off 42 balls and he was dismissed by Thoudam Rohit Singh in 14.4 overs.

KASC, YWC register wins in MNCA Superplate Cricket

WYC's Huriongbom Biteshwor Singh picked three wickets in the innings at an economy of 4.50 .

The Langthabal side performed brilliantly while fielding too as they bundled out WYC for 124 in 28.4 overs with Yenshenbam Vivek taking four wickets and Seram Robinson and Pukhrambam Prashantamani dismissing two each.

Y Vivek was given the man of the match title.

The top scorers of WYC in the chase were Priyobarta Moirangthem (27 runs), Boris Khomdram (20 runs) and Mangi Sharma Gotimayum (16 runs) .

KASC beat PSC in the following match staged at Kongba by 170 runs.

Batting first, KASC scored 353/7 in 40 overs while PSC managed to get only 183 runs in the chase.

It was an easy win for KASC as they played better in both the innings.

While KSC's Mohd Shahir Khan smashed 91 runs off 69 balls , his team-mate MD Farijuddin displayed a brilliant all-round effort hiiting 76 runs off 50 balls and taking 2 wickets.

The other top scorers of the Khomidok side were WM Rajak (44 runs), BM Irfan (38 runs) and Md Aqeel (24 runs) .

The wicket takers of PSC, on the other hand, were Ningthoujam Ranjan Singh (2 wkts), Moirangthem Thomson (2 wkts), Laimayum Prasantajit Sharma (1 wkt) and Lamabam Martin (1 wkt) .

The Khuyathong side hit only 183 runs in the chase as they went all-out in 34.5 overs.

The top scorer of PSC Ningthoujam Ranjan Singh hit only 39 runs in the chase.

Muhammad Javed Aktar (3 wkts), Md Farijuddin (2 wkts), Qurshid Alam (2 wkts) and Md Aqeel (2 wkts) were the wicket takers of KSC.

Md Farijuddin was declared man of the match.
