KASC, YWC dominate opponents with relative ease

KASC and YWC enjoyed comprehensive wins in Thursday's fixtures of the MNCA Superplate Tournament.
KASC thumped PSC by 170 runs at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East.
Asked to bat, KASC enjoyed a field day capitalising on the opposition's mediocre bowling effort as they came up with a challenging total of 353/7 in their 40 overs.
KASC's big total was set up by Md Shahir Khan who top-scored for his side with 91 off 69 balls and Md Farijuddin who smashed 76 off 50 balls, with helpful contributions from WM Rajak (44), Bm Irfan (38, Md Aqeel (24), Md babu (12 not out) and Muhammad Javed Aktar (6 not out).
For PSC, N Ranjan and M Thomson took two wickets apiece while L Prasantajit Sharma and L Martin bagged one each.
After their brilliant batting performance, KASC followed it up with a collective bowling effort to bowl out PSC in 34.5 overs for 183.Three scalps by Muhammad Javed Aktar and two each by Md Aqeel, Qurshid Alam and Md Farijuddin helped their team to an emphatic win.
In PSC's innings, N Ranjan (39), L Prasantajit (31), M Thomson (23), Ibungomacha (17), L Devwart (16), T Lellel (13) and L Martin (12) scored in double digits.
Md Farijuddin was adjudged the man of the match for his 76 runs and two wickets.
YWC, meanwhile, upstaged WYC by 86 runs at Cherapur, Thoubal.
Put in to bat, YWC posted 210/5 with efforts from Ngangbam Bikramjit (71), Ngangbam Bishwash (66), Jiko Sorokhaibam (38), Seram Robinson (12) and Ngangbam Bingson (10 not out).
In the process, three of YWC's wickets fell to H Biteshwor and one to T Rohit.
YWC then needed 28.4 overs to dismiss WYC for 124 for their dominant victory.
Yenshenbam Vivek was the chief destroyer in their triumph with an impressive haul of four wickets as Seram Robinson and Pukhrambam Prashantamani claimed two scalps each, with Ngangbam Maheshkumar accounting for one wicket.
For WYC, Priyobrata (27) and Borish (20) were the main performers in their run chase.
Yenshenbam Vivek clinched the man of the match accolade for his four wickets.
