CCpur ADC chief issues directives to traders

CCpur, April 13 2023:
Autonomous District Council (ADC), Churachandpur caretaker chairman Khaipao Haokip has asked shopkeepers, vendors and traders to ensure proper waste disposal, non-encroachment on footpaths, maintain accurate weights & measures and to stop selling expired goods.
Speaking at a press conference held at his office on Thursday, Khaipao urged the trader community in the town to dispose waste at designated site while pointing out that town is not only getting murkier with each passing day but also faces frequent inundation whenever there is heavy rainfall due to choking of the drainage system with garbage.
He also noted that almost all the footpaths in the town fully occupied by vegetable vendors and those selling of other products.
Khaipao also mentioned that issuance of fresh trade licences has been suspended as some new arrangements are presently being drafted for proper processing, while appealing to all those who did not obtain the permit to inform authorities concerned.
He further told the traders and shop-owners to maintain proper weights and measures as there have been several complaints from the public about weight of the commodities falling short while cautioned that enquiry will be launched and defaulter punished by cancelling their trade licenses.
Khaipao continued that complaints have also been received about expired food items and medicines sold to customers.
A drive against such unethical practices will be initiated and those found duping the customers will be punished, to the extent of cancelling their trade licences, he further cautioned.
