Minister Awangbow scans villages under Kasom Khullen

Water Resource minister Awangbow Newmai and Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keis-hing on Wednesday inspected Namlee, Wanglee, Kaka Ashang Khullen and Z Chorro villages under Kasom Khullen sub-division in Kamjong district.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inspection visit, Awangbow informed about government's plan for border area development in Kasom Khullen area.
While conveying that chief minister N Biren instructed him to carry out the inspection for development and to check influx of illegal immigrants, the minister urged all concerned to extend cooperation to the state government and assured that foreign nationals would be provided with all humanitarian assistance until normalcy returns in their home country.
Awangbow also stated that Myanmarese nationals who fled their country due to unrest in their country should be identified and kept in a shelter home.
He said stringent legal action will be initiated against anyone found providing accommodation without the permission of the government.
According to MLA Leishiyo Keishing, Awangbow is the first cabinet minister to visit the area and urged the people of the village to extend full co-operation to the state government.
The team also inspected the sites for construction of dams and bridges.
The minister was accompanied by Kamjong deputy commissioner Rangnamei Rang Peter and other district level officials, and WRD and PWD (bridge division) officials.
